Submissions
Budding Light Press and Maltrop are currently closed to submissions in all genres—fiction, poetry, non-fiction and more.

We are particularly interested in works written in Koorie English or Indigenous languages, and in any works by Indigenous authors.

SUBMITTING TO BUDDING LIGHT PRESS

If submitting to Budding Light Press, please attach your work to your email in DOC or DOCX format.
​​
If submitting to Maltrop, please include your work in the body of your email.
​​

PAYMENT
​​
Poetry, very short stories, flash fiction and short stories are paid at a rate of 10 cents per word up to $25 AUD.​
​​
Budding Light Press and Maltrop ask for the right to publish any accepted work indefinitely, or until you write to us and ask for us to unpublish your work after a period of no less than five years of your work being published with us.
​
We also ask that we may use your work in various publications by our press, e.g. an issue of Maltrop and a paperback anthology of poetry.

RIGHTS

The rights to your work remain with you. However, if you submit a new work to us and we choose to publish it, we ask that you please give credit to Budding Light Press as the first publisher if you choose to publish it elsewhere.
